File type requirements and transfer instructions:

For SLA builds the .stl file format is required.

In cases where:

• A file split is required for build.
• Changes are requested for the design.
• Any other reason the complete database is required.

An .igs or .iges is required.

Solidworks part or assembly files are acceptable.

Please transfer all files for quote to: engineering@spectrum3d.com with your name and company information, along with RFQ for any other services. For files larger than 2 megabytes, please zip. Solidworks users please see "hint" at the lower area of this page for a file size cutting option contained in your design tree.

For Drawings, please FAX to the number below, or send to the accompanying address. Your quote will be Faxed and/or emailed as per your instructions. Please contact our office at any time for any additional information.

Hint: For solidworks users, it is possible to cut your file size by 90% by using your "extrude feature" tool.

Instructions:

• Locate a plane which will allow you to encapsulate the part completely assuming the use of the extrude feature tool in the "feature tool bar", and the rectangle tool and in the "sketch tool bar".
• Using the rectangle tool, sketch a rectangle large enough to accommodate the entire geometry of the part assuming the use of the extrude feature tool. Name the sketch "delete me" in the design tree.
• Click the extrude feature tool and set the end condition to "blind". Be sure to input a dimension that will completely encapsulate the part. If the plane cuts through the middle of the part, set the extrude feature condition to "both directions". Name the feature "delete me" in the design tree.
• E-mail to spectrum 3D for quote.
